Sony Music’s twitter account got hacked, possibly by OurMine team, and the hackers declared Britney Spears as dead. The tweet left her fans shocked as it was from Sony Music Entertainment’s official twitter account. Here’s what the hackers tweeted:

“RIP @britneyspears #RIPBritney 1981-2016” and “Britney spears is dead by accident! We will tell you more soon #RIPBritney.”

Sony Music, after noticing, quickly removed the tweets and further clarified that the the account was compromised. The company also apologized to Britney and her fans.

“Sony Music Entertainment’s Twitter account was compromised. This has been rectified,” the tweet reads. It further added, “Sony Music apologizes to Britney Spears and her fans for any confusion.”

Britney’s manager quickly jumped into the matter and told CNN that she is perfectly fine and doing well. “There have been a few Internet clowns over the years who have made similar claims about her death, but never from the official Sony Music Twitter account,” said Adam Leber, Britney Spear’s manager.

After the Sony Music’s tweet, Bob Dylan also tweeted “Rest in peace @britneyspears.” The tweet came from the official twitter account of Bob Dylan at the same time when hackers were tweeting from Sony Music’s account. Hackers may also have hacked Bob Dylan’s official twitter account.

OurMine, the team that was also involved in hacking other celebrities twitter accounts including Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO), and Jack Dorsey (Twitter CEO), has been suspected behind hacking Sony Music’s account as one of the tweet from Dylan’s account included the OurMine hashtag.

Britney Spears is not the only one who has been reported dead, there are other celebrities like Jackie Chan, Sylvester Stallone, Beyonce, and many more.
