Sony unveiled a range of Xperia series smartphones- Xperia XZs, Xperia XA1, Xperia XZ Premium, and Xperia XA1 Ultra at this year’s Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. Out of four, Xperia XZs has made its way to India featuring Motion Eye camera technology at a price of Rs.51,990, however you can buy it a price of Rs.49,990. It will be available from April 11 at all authorized retail outlets across the country in Ice Blue, Warm Silver, and Black colors. The company has also partnered with Flipkart to make it available online with great introductory offers.

Getting on to the specifications, the all new Xperia XZs sports 5.2-inch FHD (1080×1920 pixels) Triluminos display that comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The smartphone has received IP65/68 certification for dust and water resistance. It is powered by 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 510 GPU. It comes with 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 256GB via microSD card.
The smartphone features 19MP Motion Eye camera and has 1/2.3 inch Exmor RS for memory stacked sensor that helps capturing super slow motion videos at 960fps (frames per second). “It captures movement the human eye can’t normally see, with astonishing precision and detail,” explains Sony. Other camera features includes- Triple Image Sensing Technology, Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, 0.5 sec Quick Launch and Capture, Anti-distortion Shutter, 25 mm Wide G Lens F2.0, SteadyShot with Intelligent Active Mode (5-axis stabilization), and BIONZ for Mobile Image-processing Engine. It also sports 13MP wide angle (22mm) selfie camera with 1/3.06 inch Exmor RS for Mobile Image Sensor.
It’s a dual SIM hybrid smartphone that accepts Nano SIM and is packed with 2900mAh battery with hybrid charging- Qnovo Adaptive Charging & Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The device runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and sports fingerprint sensor. Connectivity options include- WiFi, 4G VoLTE, 4G LTE, 3G, 2G, GPRS, EDGE, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, microUSB, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on board Sony Xperia XZs include- accelerometer, proximity, gyroscope, magnetomete, and ambient light. The smartphone also sports stereo speakers with S-Force Front Surround.
