Samsung, to compete with Xiaomi and win back Indian smartphone market, has launched M-series of smartphones in India which include Samsung Galaxy M10 and Samsung Galaxy M20. The company has partnered with Amazon India for the launch.
Both the budget smartphones- Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 are being offered in two storage configurations. The 2GB/ 16GB storage variant of Galaxy M10 has been priced at Rs. 7,990 while the 3GB/ 32GB model will cost you Rs. 8,990. On the other hand, Galaxy M20 with 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs. 10,990 and the top model retails at Rs. 12,990 and offers 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. All models are scheduled to go on sale starting February 5, 2019, via Amazon India and Samsung India e-store in Charcoal Black and Ocean Blue color options.

Starting with Galaxy M10, the smartphone sports 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) Infinity-V display with 19:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch up top housing the selfie camera. The smartphone is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7870 (14nm octa-core Cortex-A53 @ 1.6GHz) SoC paired with Mali-T830 MP1 and up to 3GB RAM as mentioned above. The internal storage (16GB/32GB) can be expanded further up to 512GB via microSD card.
Camera department includes dual rear camera setup consisting of a 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, PDAF (phase detection autofocus) & 5MP ultra-wide secondary depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture paired with LED flash. On the front, the smartphone features 5MP selfie sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The ultra-wide mode on the smartphone supports group photos, cityscapes, and landscapes.
Samsung Galaxy M10 supports two Nano-SIMs, features a dedicated slot for the microSD card and packs 3,400mAh battery. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.5 UX and there’s no fingerprint sensor on the phone but supports Face Unlock. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ BDS, FM Radio, 3.55mm audio jack and microUSB 2.0 port. Sensors on the smartphone include accelerometer and proximity.
The higher price variant Galaxy M20 sports 6.3-inch FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) Infinity-V display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.5 UX. It is powered by an Exynos 7904 octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Gold & 4×1.8 GHz Kryo 260 Silver ) SoC paired with Mali-G71 MP2 and your choice of RAM i.e. 3GB/4GB. Internal storage (32GB/64GB) is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card.
Samsung Galaxy M20 also sports dual rear camera setup- 13MP primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture, PDAF & 5MP secondary depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture paired with LED flash. On the other hand, it features 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also supports ultra-wide mode.
Connectivity options onboard Galaxy M20 include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ BDS, FM Radio, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C. It also supports two Nano-SIMs, features a dedicated slot for the microSD card but packs a larger 5,000mAh battery and supports fast charging. The fingerprint sensor comes mounted on the rear panel and it supports Face Unlock as well. Other sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer.
