Vivo has launched a budget-friendly option for the Indian smartphone market called Vivo Y02. The smartphone is designed and developed for entry-level users in India and packs decent specs and features. The device was also launched in Indonesia last month.

Vivo Y02 comes with a price tag of Rs. 8,999 for the only 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. It is available to buy via the Vivo store both online and offline and authorized retail outlets across the country. The smartphone comes in two color options- Orchid Blue and Cosmic Grey.
As for the offers, Bajaj Finserv EMI card users can avail no cost EMIs on purchase via the online store. There is also an exchange offer allowing buyers to upgrade their existing smartphone with Vivo Y02.
Specifications, design, and features:
Vivo Y02 sports curved edges on the rear with a flat frame giving the device a premium look. The smartphone is 8.49mm thick and comes with a matte finish making it resistant to scratches and fingerprints. It features a 6.51-inch HD+ (1600×720 pixels) FullView IPS display and offers blue light filtering for eye protection.
The device runs Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 Go edition and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek chipset (Helio P22) paired with 3GB RAM. It comes with 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 1TB via a microSD card that goes into a dedicated slot. There is no fingerprint sensor on the phone however users can unlock their phone with a facial recognition-like feature called Face Wake offered by the OS.
The optics department includes a single 8MP (f/2.0 aperture) AI camera setup on the back that comes paired with an LED flash. The rear camera supports features like Face beauty, time-lapse, and bokeh mode. On the front under the waterdrop notch is a 5MP (f/2.2 aperture) selfie camera with Face beauty.
Vivi Y02 comes packed with a 5,000 mAh big battery and supports 10W charging and 5W reverse charging. The SIM tray accepts two nano SIMs and a microSD card. Connectivity options offered by the 4G smartphone are dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/GLONASS, FM Radio, MicroUSB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, virtual gyroscope, and e-compass.
