Motorola has launched Motorola One Action smartphone in India on August 24, 2019. The smartphone sports hole-punch design and on the rear sits industry’s first dedicated wide-angle action camera allowing users to shoot detailed videos. The phone was launched globally last week and available to buy in parts of Europe, Mexico, and Brazil.
The all-new Android One smartphone from Motorola comes with a price tag of Rs. 13,999 offering 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and this is the only variant launched. You can grab the smartphone on August 30 at 12 pm IST via Flipkart. Color options include Denim Blue and Pearl White.
A per the launch offers, telecom partner Jio is offering cashback up to Rs. 2,200 in the form of vouchers and 125GB of additional data benefit.
Motorola One Action sports 6.3-inch FHD+ (2520×1080 pixels) CinemaVision IPS display, with an aspect ratio of 21:9, 84% screen to body ratio, and 2.5D glass. It is powered by Samsung’s 2.2GHz Exynos 9609 octa-core SoC, paired with Mali G72 MP3 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It comes with 128GB of onboard storage expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. Coming to the camera department, the smartphone features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 12MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 1.25-micrometer pixel, PDAF (phase detection autofocus), 5MP depth sensor, and 16MP dedicated video camera sensor with 117-degree wide-angle lens, 2-micron pixel, and f/2.2 aperture. The setup comes paired with dual CCT LED flash. The 16MP sensor utilizes pixel binning tech which binds 4 pixels into 1 pixel. The Enhanced Video Stabilization feature on the rear camera compensates for device shakes while capturing videos and outputs stabilized videos. The camera also supports video capturing in landscape mode while holding the phone vertically which can be watched horizontally on the phone’s large screen.
There is also a 12MP front camera sensor with 1.25-micron pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, and screen flash. The front camera supports features like portrait mode, group selfie, cinemagraph, and spot color. With Cinemagraph, you can keep a portion of the shot in motion while freezing everything else while Spot color feature allows you to pick one color in the shot and turn everything black and white. To enhance your photography experience, the front camera comes paired with AI-based features such as smart composition, shot optimization, portrait lighting, and auto smile capture.
Motorola One Action runs on Android 9 Pie and being an Android One smartphone, it will receive two future Android upgrades i.e. Android 10 and Android 11 and three years of monthly security updates.
The smartphone accepts two Nano SIMs, packs 3,500mAh battery and supports fast charging via 10W charging adapter. The device can withstand a small amount of dripping water as it is rated IPX2.
Connectivity options on the smartphone include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, FM Radio, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the phone include fingerprint sensor (mounted on the rear panel), proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and gyroscope.
