Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched its mid-range smartphone in India called Honor 9 Lite. The smartphone packs four cameras and sports 18:9 Full view display. It’s a Flipkart exclusive smartphone that comes in two storage configurations- 3GB/ 32GB and 4GB/ 64GB.

The 3GB/ 32GB variant has been priced at Rs. 10,999 while the 4GB/ 64GB variant of Honor 9 Lite will cost you Rs. 14,999. The company is offering the device in Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, and Glacier Grey color options. The first flash sale will be conducted on January 21 at 12:00 am and 12:00 pm via Flipkart and Honor India Store followed by another flash sale on January 22 and January 23 at noon. Citibank credit and debit card users can avail an instant discount of 10% on buying any of the Honor 9 Lite variant.

The smartphone sports double-sided 2.5D glass and a layer of nano-optical film on its back. The PPVD (Patterned Physical Vapor Deposition) craftsmanship frame on the smartphone and its slim design enable light to flow around the device creating a mirror-like effect. The mirror-like effect is limited to Sapphire Blue and Glacier Grey color options.

Honor 9 Lite sports 5.65-inch FHD+ (2160×1080 pixels) IPS Fullview display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 428ppi pixel density. The device is powered by Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core (four cores at 2.36GHz and four cores at 1.7GHz) SoC paired with your choice of RAM i.e. either 3GB or 4GB. It comes with two internal storage options- 32GB and 64GB which can be expanded further up to 256GB via MicroSD card.

The smartphone features dual camera setup on both sides consisting of 13MP and 2MP sensors. The rear 13MP+2MP dual camera setup comes paired with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) and LED flash. The front 13MP+2MP dual camera setup is capable of generating bokeh effects. The smartphone also comes integrated with an upgraded beauty algorithm that customizes photos according to the gender.

Honor 9 Lite runs EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo and sports fingerprint sensor on the rear panel which the company claims unlocks the device in 0.25 seconds. The smartphone packs 3000mAh battery powered by 5th-gen smart battery-saving technology.

It’s a dual SIM smartphone that supports hybrid configuration (Nano SIM + Nano SIM or Nano SIM + MicroSD card). Connectivity options onboard the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro USB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, magnetometer, and ambient light.

Honor 9 Lite was launched in China last year in December and India is the second country where the company has made the device available.
