Huawei has introduced a budget smartphone that runs on Android Oreo (Go edition), however, its price and availability details are not yet revealed. The phone’s name is Huawei Y3 2018 and will be available in three color options- White, Gold, and Grey.
It has been listed on Huawei’s official Ghanian website and according to it, the smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo (Go edition). Before going any further let me tell you what Oreo’s Go edition is- Android Oreo (Go edition) or Android Go has been optimized for entry-level or basic smartphones such as Huawei Y3 2018 in order to maximize the phone’s performance and offer a smooth user experience.
The lightweight OS comes pre-installed with Google’s Go apps such as Maps Go, Google Assistant Go, Files Go, Gmail Go, Google Go, and more. As a result, it provides you more free storage, better performance, data savings, and enhanced security. With fewer pre-installed lightweight apps onboard, you get 2x more free storage and increased performance.
Coming to its specifications, the smartphone sports 5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) IPS LCD display and is powered by a 1.1 GHz MediaTek MT6737M quad-core processor paired with Mali-T720MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It comes with 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded further up to 128GB via MicroSD card.
Its camera department includes 8MP rear auto-focus sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a single LED flash. On the front, the smartphone features 2MP fixed-focus sensor for taking selfies and video calling. The phone packs powerful loudspeaker to deliver “pleasant audio experience” and to make sure that you don’t miss phone calls even when you’re in noisy conditions.
It’s a dual SIM (Micro-SIM) smartphone and powering it up is the 2280mAh non-removable battery. Connectivity options onboard Huawei Y3 2018 include 4G LTE, WiFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, FM Radio, micro USB 2.0 port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, ambient light, and accelerometer.
