Xiaomi launches Mi 11 Lite in India: All you want to know

Xiaomi’s Mi 11 Lite has finally made it to the Indian market after it was launched globally in March. The company has made available the 4G model of Mi 11 Lite initially and said that the 5G version will be launched if it sees demand from the customers. Read on for in-depth details on Mi 11 Lite.

Mi 11 Lite is touted to be the world’s thinnest and lightest smartphone launched in 2021. It is 6.8mm thin and weighs 157 grams which the company claims is the lowest among all the phones launched in 2021 including iPhone 12, Samsung Galaxy S21 5G, OnePlus 8T, and Oppo Find X3 Pro. Other than that, the smartphone sports a near-flat camera module measured to be 1.77mm up above the phone’s body, 1.88mm slim bezels, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and an IP53 rating making it splash-proof.

Price, availability, and offers:

The latest addition to the Mi 11 series in India comes with a price tag of Rs. 21,999 for the 6GB RAM variant and Rs. 23,999 for the higher 8GB RAM variant. The internal storage is set to 128GB for both models. The company will start taking pre-orders from 12 noon June 25, 2021, via its own online store (Mi Store) and Flipkart. Mi 11 Lite comes in three different color options- Vinyl Black, Jazz Blue, and Tuscany Coral. One thing to note here is that Jazz Blue and Tuscany Coral variants feature an anti-glare matte design while the Vinyl Black model sports a mirror finish.

You can avail an instant discount of Rs. 1,500 if you make a prepaid pre-order which is available on both the platforms and HDFC Bank users can avail an additional Rs, 1,500 off on credit and debit card EMI transactions. No Cost EMI offer is also available making it a great deal for HDFC bank users.

Specifications:

Mi 11 Lite sports 6.55-inch FHD+ (2400×1080 pixels, 402ppi pixel density) AMOLED Dot display with 10-bit color depth (1.07 billion colors which are 64-times more colors than regular 8-bit display), 20:9 aspect ratio, DCI-P3 wide color gamut, up to 800nits brightness in high brightness mode, 60/90Hz refresh rate, and supports HDR10. On top of the display is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 to provide protection against day-to-day scratches and damage but a screen guard is still recommended.

The phone is powered by an octa-core (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver) Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G SoC paired with Adreno 618 GPU and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes with 128GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card and runs on Android 11-based MIUI 12.

The camera department includes a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 64MP primary shooter with an f/1.79 aperture lens, contrast AF, 4-in-1 superpixel, and 0.7μm pixel size + 8MP ultra-wide (119-degree FoV) sensor with an f/2.2 lens + 5MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture which also offers 2x magnification compared to normal macro lenses. Rear camera photography features include 64MP mode, Google Lens support, AI Beautify, AI portrait mode with bokeh and depth control, movie frame, pro mode, panorama, AI studio lighting with 6 effects, AI SkyScaping (allowing you to transform your photos into lively pictures or dynamic videos by changing the landscape), and face recognition among others. The camera module supports 4K video recording at 30fps, 1080p at 60fps (slow-motion at 120fps), and 720p at 30fps (slow-motion at 960fps). Video features include one-click AI cinema, AI portrait video, pro mode, time-lapse, short video, and electronic image stabilization (EIS). The camera hole on the front houses a 16MP selfie shooter with an f/2.45 lens and supports features like night mode, timed burst, AI Beautify, AI portrait mode with bokeh and depth control, HDR, palm shutter, panorama selfie, AI studio lighting with six effects, and screen softlight. Front camera videography features include EIS video stabilization, slow-motion video, time-lapse selfie, short video, and kaleidoscope.

Other features include dual speakers, Hi-Res audio support for lossless music streaming, LiquidCool technology for efficient heat dissipation. The SIM tray accepts two Nano SIMs in hybrid configuration meaning Nano SIM + Nano SIM or microSD card. The phone packs a 4,250mAh battery claimed to deliver 16 hours of video and 101 hours of music playtime. It supports fast charging via a 33W charging adapter which can fuel up the battery up to 59 percent in just 30 minutes and 100 percent in 65 minutes.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.1, NFC, Infrared port, GPS with A-GPS/Glonass/Galileo, and USB Type-C 2.0 port. The phone ships with a Type-C to headphone jack converter as it doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the phone other than fingerprint include proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, e-compass, linear motor, and IR blaster.
