Coming to the specifications, the OnePlus 5T sports 6.01-inch FHD+ (1080×2160 pixels) full optic AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio, 401ppi pixel density and on top, there’s 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core (four 2.45GHz Kryo and four 1.9GHz Kryo) SoC paired with Adreno 540 GPU and 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM. It comes with 64GB/128GB internal storage with no microSD card slot for further expandability.

As we mentioned, the all-new OnePlus 5T sports dual rear camera setup consisting of one 16MP Sony IMX398 primary sensor with 1.12-micron pixels and f/1.7 aperture and one 20MP Sony IMX356K secondary sensor with 1.0-micron pixels and f/1.7 aperture. The dual camera setup comes paired with dual LED flash and packs features like EIS (electronic image stabilization) and PDAF (phase detection autofocus). OnePlus 5 comes with one telephoto lens to capture the depth-of-field but this time with OnePlus 5T, the company changed the dual camera setup with a large aperture secondary lens to enhance photography in low-light conditions. The smartphone can shoot 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. The device automatically switches from primary to the secondary sensor in low-light conditions. There is also the portrait mode just like OnePlus 5 but with improvements.

On the front, there’s 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor with 1.0-micron pixels, f/2.0 aperture, and EIS. OnePlus has made it easier to capture and access camera features using one hand, thanks to the redesigned Camera UI. The company also carried forward the Pro mode which was introduced with OnePlus 5.

OnePlus 5T runs OxygenOS 4.7 based on Android 7.1 Nougat which will be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo soon, promised company. The device comes with Face Unlock feature that let users unlock it in just 0.4 seconds. The new unlock feature is powered by an advanced facial recognition algorithm that uses over 100 facial features to identify the user. There’s also a fingerprint sensor located on the rear side of the smartphone. To be on safe side, we recommend you to use fingerprint sensor over facial recognition but if you choose convenience over security then go with face unlock method. The fingerprint sensor on the smartphone does more than just scanning, swipe on it to open notifications shade or long-press to capture selfies. Other OS features include Reading mode, Parallel Apps that lets you clone pre-installed apps like WhatsApp, and Gallery Maps.

The OnePlus 5T is almost the same size as OnePlus 5 but with a larger screen. It’s a dual SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3300mAh non-removable battery and supports company’s fast charging technology called Dash Charge that can fuel up one-day battery life in just 30 minutes. Connectivity options on board the OnePlus 5 successor include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0 with aptX and aptX HD, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ GALILEO, NFC, MicroUSB port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and magnetometer.

If you don’t have the budget for Google Pixel 2 smartphones, Apple’s latest iPhones, or Samsung’s flagship device then OnePlus 5T is a great alternative with good camera features and great performance. The all-new OnePlus flagship will be available only in Midnight Black color option.
