Meizu E3 sports 5.99-inch 18:9 display: Specifications, price

Meizu has launched an all-new dual rear camera smartphone in its home market, China called Meizu E3 aka Charm Blue E3. The smartphone is scheduled to go live for pre-orders on March 26 and will start shipping from March 31. At a decent price rate, you get a power-packed smartphone with great features, camera, and looks.

The company is offering Charm Blue E3 in two storage options- 64GB and 128GB priced at CNY 1,799 (approx $280 or Rs. 18,500) and CNY 1,999 (approx $315 or Rs. 20,550) respectively. Interested buyers can pre-order the smartphone in three color options- Black, Blue, and Champagne Gold.

There is one limited edition variant called Meizu E3 J-20 which has been named after China’s stealth fifth-generation fighter aircraft, Chengdu J-20. The custom edition comes in Black Stone color with aircraft drawn on the rear panel, refer to image below for more understanding. The special edition variant comes only in 6GB/ 64GB storage configuration and has been priced at CNY 2,499 (approx $395 or Rs. 25,700). It shares same specifications as that of standard variant.

Meizu E3 J-20

Coming on its specifications, Charm Blue E3 sports 5.99-inch IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 403ppi pixel density. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 509 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM. As I already mentioned, it comes in two internal storage variants expandable up to 128GB via MicroSD card.

The smartphone sports dual rear camera setup with 12MP (1/2.55″ sensor size, f/1.9 aperture, dual pixel PDAF) primary Sony IMX362 sensor and 20MP (1/2.8″ sensor size, f/2.6 aperture, PDAF) secondary Sony IMX350 sensor. Other rear camera setup features include portrait mode, 2.5x lossless zoom, panorama, continuous shooting mode, and dual ISP (image signal processor). The dual rear camera setup comes paired with dual-LED (dual tone) flash and on top, there is sapphire glass protecting it. On the front side, the device sports 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 large aperture. Meizu has integrated ArcSoft Image Optimization algorithms into device’s front camera which edits face’s complexion and shape in real-time.

It’s a hybrid dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone that comes packed with 3360mAh battery and supports mCharge 3.0 fast charging technology, fueling it up to 53% in just 30 minutes. It runs Android 7.1.2 Nougat based Flyme OS 7.0 and sports fingerprint sensor placed inside the power button that unlocks the device in 0.2 seconds and can be used to authenticate payments. Connectivity options onboard Meizu E3 include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, gravity, ambient light, magnetometer, hall, and gyroscope.
