Oppo A5 with FullView notch display launched in India: Specifications

Oppo A5, which was launched in China last month, has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 14,990. It sports 19:9 display with a notch up top housing the selfie camera, ambient light sensor, and earpiece.

“With A5, we wish to bring a smartphone that comes with features that meet the current demands of the young generation,” said Will Yang, Brand Director, Oppo India.

Oppo A5 sports diamond-patterned back panel which is designed using a nano-scale microcrystalline technology, producing a “dazzling illusion texture.” The front side features 6.2-inch HD+ (720×1520 pixels) IPS LCD display having an aspect ratio of 19:9 and 87.8 percent screen to body ratio. The device is powered by a 64-bit 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core 450 SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal storage expandable up to 256GB via microSD card.

The smartphone features a 13MP (autofocus) + 2MP (depth sensor) dual rear camera setup with f/2.2 + f/2.4 aperture. The setup comes paired with an LED flash and offers features like panorama, HDR, face detection, portrait, and time-lapse photography. On the front side, Oppo A5 sports 8MP (f/2.2 aperture) selfie camera that comes paired with AI-based beautification algorithm which smartly selects the best beauty filter from 8 million filters and recognizes up to 296 facial features. There is no fingerprint sensor on the smartphone, don’t worry, you can secure the phone using face unlock and other traditional phone unlocking methods.

Oppo A5 runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 and packs massive 4230mAh battery that delivers 14 hours of video playback and up to 11 hours of gaming. It also packs features like smart unlock, smart driving mode, and game acceleration which boosts phone’s performance to deliver a smooth gaming experience.

It’s a dual SIM (Nano) smartphone that supports hybrid configuration meaning Nano SIM + Nano SIM/microSD card. Connectivity options onboard Oppo A5 include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, FM Radio, micro USB 2.0 port, and 3.5mm audio jack. Sensors on the smartphone include proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer.

“Along with advanced features like dual camera, super full screen, and extensive battery, the Oppo A5 has been designed to enable consumers to capture every moment perfectly,” added Will Yang.
