Sharp has launched a brand new smartphone in Japan featuring OLED panel and is called AQUOS Zero. The OLED panel is designed and developed by Sharp itself. Price and availability of the smartphone is still a question mark and also if or not it will be launched in markets other than Japan.

The smartphone has a notch display and a thin bezel at the bottom. Aquos Zero sports a durable magnesium alloy frame while the back panel has been built using Aramid Fiber which is a heat-resistant and synthetic fiber. It is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

In terms of storage, Aquos Zero packs 128GB of UFS storage and offers no extra slot for the external storage card. Camera department includes a 22.6MP rear sensor with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash while, on the other hand, the front side features an 8MP selfie sensor.

The fingerprint sensor comes mounted on the rear panel below the camera module and the phone also supports face unlock method. Aquos Zero integrates surround sound technology “Dolby Atmos”, supports Hi-Res audio and comes with stereo speakers. With Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, the smartphone offers a powerful sound and viewing experience.

Aquos Zero runs on Android 9.0 Pie and packs 3,130mAh battery. It weighs just 146g which Sharp is really proud of, thanks to the magnesium frame and the aramid fiber back. Sensors include proximity, ambient light, accelerometer, gyroscope, and magnetometer.
